Elizabeth Cohen, an Albany New York native, began her musical career at age 9 as part of Celine Dion's
children's chorus for the Let's Talk About Love tour. Elizabeth began formal training at 15 when she
auditioned and was selected for the Juilliard School's Pre-College program on a dare from her Mom.
Elizabeth’s recent operatic roles include: La Traviata (Violetta), Cosi fan tutte (Fiordiligi), the title role in
Suor Angelica, (Countess) Le Nozze di Figaro, (Donna Anna) Don Giovanni, (Antonia) Les Contes
d’Hoffmann, and (Magda) La Rondine. Elizabeth’s concert experience ranges from soprano soloist in
traditional classical masses such as Shubert Mass in E-flat and Beethoven’s mass in C major, to new
music and even a world premiere performed alongside the renowned Dawn Upshaw. Elizabeth has
always had a great love for art song and worked on several occasions with the late Dalton Baldwin. As a
passion project, Elizabeth performed the complete Clairières dans le ciel by Lili Boulanger with Javier
Arrebola. In 2020 Elizabeth sang in association with the Albany Symphony in their Clara Schumann
festival and birthday celebration. Most recently Elizabeth was the Grand Prize Winner in the World
Classical Music Awards. This past spring Elizabeth was a finalist in the Music International Grand prix
after winning 2nd place in her NYC semifinal. In February Elizabeth made her Carnegie Hall debut after
being the silver medal winner in the Forte International Music Competition. Elizabeth was
previously awarded 4th place in the London Classical Music Competition; 2nd place in the North
international Music Competition and was the first winner of the Raphael Bundage Award in the National
Orpheus Competition. Elizabeth holds two Bachelor’s degrees from Oberlin College and Conservatory of
Music and a Master’s degree from Bard College’s Vocal Arts Program.
